From the United Way of Northwest Arkansas:

Taxpayers making $49,000 or less during the year 2010 are qualified for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Preparation) this means they can have their taxes prepared free of charge.  In addition 2-1-1 is working with the local VITA sites to help make this a little easier for clients.

The President recently signed into law the 2010 Tax Relief Act, which will provide big savings for millions of taxpayers, more if you have young children or attend college. It is estimated that the averaging saving will be about $3,000 per taxpayer.(read more)

You must file a file a Federal income tax return on or before April 15, 2010 if your income is above a certain level. The amount varies depending on filing status, age and the type of income you receive. 

The U.S. tax system is considered a "pay as you go" plan. Even if you do not have to file, you should file to get money back if Federal Income Tax was withheld from your pay, or you qualify for a refundable credit that may give you a refund even if you do not owe any tax.
